As the consultant, DCG knows the
correct approach and best manufacturing practices, but we have no idea about
the current mindset at the company that is driving current concepts amongst
workers, management and systems.
The human system is different in each
factory and geographical location.People who have been using the same methodology for perhaps two decades
will not be physically or mentally ready for major change.
The New Concept Pilot Trial was set up
to assess the current mindset of workers, management and systems for a period
of time for their attitude towards change, especially in terms of resistance to
change and methods of work, as well as weaknesses and areas needing improvement
in management systems, skill levels, etc.
During the Pilot Trial, particular
focus will be put on the workers’ evaluation of their overall situation and
careful consideration will be made of their comments and needs.
An approach strategy to deal with any
resistance as well as deal with and avoid problems pointed by workers will also
be developed at this time.
